马来西亚军用设备防锈使用VPCI-146气相防锈纸

PROBLEM
Pusat Sains Dan Teknologi Pertahanan (PSTP) aids the Malaysian Armed Forces in research and application of new technology. During the two year storage periods in the tropical atmosphere of the army depot, charge bags and cartridge cases in 105mm ammunition deteriorated due to corrosion. Corrosion-damaged items could result in spontaneous explosion.
APPLICATION

The PSTP found that by using Cortec® VpCI-146 packaging paper for the ammunition, corrosion was no longer a problem. The 105mm ammunition was wrappped in VpCI-146 and an absorbent material.

REASON CORTEC SELECTED

The danger of spontaneous explosion due to corrosion was eliminated by the use of Cortec products. The new packaging method is estimated to save the Malaysian Armed Forces almost 3.4 million Malaysian Ringgit (approximately 900,000 USD) per year.
