PROBLEM
Copper pipe manufactured by Outokumpu corrodes easily due to an extremely humid environment. Outokumpu needed to protect the finished pipe from corrosion during shipping as well as storage.
APPLICATION
Outokumpu uses Cortec VpCI-146 paper cut into their desired size and wraps the paper around the coils of copper pipe. Then they cover the coils with ordinary plastic film.
REASON CORTEC SELECTED
Outokumpu chose Cortec's nitrite free VpCI-146 paper because it effectively protects copper from oxidation. Also, Cortec products are environmentally friendly.
CONCLUSION
Cortec VpCI-146 is effective in protecting copper from corrosion and can provide the six month protection Outokumpu needs.
